Therapy Intensives in Temecula, CA

I offer extended therapy sessions designed to help you process trauma and make meaningful progress in a focused, supportive setting.

What Are Therapy Intensives?

Therapy intensives are longer, more focused therapy sessions that allow me to help you work through challenges in a deeper and more concentrated way. Instead of spreading progress across many weekly sessions, I use intensives to create space for meaningful breakthroughs in a shorter period of time.

These sessions provide the time and structure needed to address complex issues, especially trauma, without feeling rushed.

At Journey to Wellness Counseling, I often incorporate trauma-focused approaches like Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and EMDR into therapy intensives to help you process difficult memories and move forward with greater clarity.

How Therapy Intensives Work

Therapy intensives give me dedicated time to help you focus on a specific issue or goal.

During the process, I will help you:

  • Identify the main issue or experience you want to work on
  • Spend extended time exploring and processing the challenge
  • Use structured therapeutic techniques to help reprocess difficult memories
  • Develop practical strategies for moving forward

Because intensives allow for deeper focus, many clients experience meaningful progress in a shorter timeframe.

Who Therapy Intensives Are For

Therapy intensives can be helpful for people who want deeper progress without waiting weeks between sessions.

They may be a good fit if you:

Want to focus on healing a specific traumatic experience
Feel stuck in patterns that traditional weekly therapy hasn’t resolved
Prefer a more concentrated approach to personal growth
Have a busy schedule that makes weekly therapy difficult

What to Expect in a Therapy Intensive

Therapy intensives are typically longer sessions, often lasting several hours, designed to allow meaningful progress without interruption.

A therapy intensive may include:

  • Clarifying your goals and what you want to work on

  • Trauma processing using approaches such as ART

  • Guided exercises and reflection

  • Integration and practical strategies for moving forward

Each intensive is personalized to your needs and paced in a way that feels safe and supportive.

FAQs about Therapy Intensives

What is the difference between regular therapy and an intensive?

Traditional therapy usually takes place in weekly sessions lasting about 55 minutes. Therapy intensives are longer sessions—often several hours—that allow for deeper focus and faster progress on specific issues.

My individual intensives start at $1350. This includes 90-minute pre-intensive interview, 3-hours actual face to face intensive therapy, and 90 min post-intensive debrief (optional); so a total of 6 hours.

Intensive sessions are available in 3-5 hour lengths and may be offered in 1, 2, 3, or 4-day formats. Sessions may be scheduled consecutively or on separate weeks. Due to licensing laws I am only able to work with clients located in California during the time of our sessions

Therapy intensives are often used for trauma, unresolved emotional experiences, anxiety, and patterns that feel difficult to shift in traditional therapy.

No. Intensives are carefully guided and paced so you feel supported throughout the process. Breaks and grounding techniques are used to ensure the experience remains manageable.

A consultation is the best way to determine this. We can discuss your goals, experiences, and whether an intensive format would be beneficial for you.

The first step is scheduling a consultation where we can discuss your needs and determine if a therapy intensive is the right fit.
